Our New York City client is the developer of the worlds first
marketplace for privately held businesses, seeks a lead engineer to join
our team and lead the development of our next generation of our
web-based product offerings. This is an opportunity for a technical lead
who believes in our business model, wants a huge technical leadership
role in a startup, and is inspired by the technical challenges and
commercial opportunities our business model presents. This role requires
one to effectively and frequently engage directly at the business level
in addition to the technical level. The engineer will be instrumental in
MAKING and IMPLEMENTING strategic decisions regarding our technology
infrastructure, programming languages used, etc.

As the first full-time technical professional, you will be asked to lead
up the following initiatives: 

* Set up from scratch our cloud computing infrastructure 
* Select our programming languages, environment, and development tools 
* Lead the develop applications that pertain to or include elements of: 
* B2B web-based marketplaces 
* Gaming-resistant systems 
* Sophisticated Matching and Recommendation Engines for
business-to-business use cases 

Preferred Skills: 

* Competency with agile-based development demonstrated ability to work
in a highly entrepreneurial environment with colleagues with modest
technical backgrounds 
* Ability to set up a cloud-computing infrastructure FROM SCRATCH 
* Direct experience with web services APIs for Amazon Web Services and
Salesforce.com 
* Server technology 
* Proficient with the web application development stack, especially the
back-end (MySQL) 
* Experience programming in PHP, Python, Ruby or RoR - HTML, CSS, a plus

* Passion for technology and providing valuable, usable products to
customers via the SaaS model 
* Excellent communication skills
