Unype, Inc. is a well-funded location-based social-networking startup
based in New York City. We have iPhone, Android, Blackberry and
Windows Mobile applications and social-network applications in
Facebook, MySpace, Hi5, Orkut, Bebo, Friendster and Ning with hundreds
of thousands of users.

Our culture is based on Silicon Valley where we cut our teeth: fun,
engineering-oriented and out to change the world.

Our backend runs on Amazon EC2 and is written in PHP and MySql. The
position involves adding new services to and improving our backend on
an ongoing basis as well as coming up with new ways of enhancing the
overall user experience in terms of data management.

Requirements:
* Expert knowledge of PHP and a PHP-Caching framework
* Expert knowledge of MySql, replication with multiple slaves,
backup/restore procedures
* Expert knowledge of Linux, Apache
* Experience with MemCached
* Experience with load-balancing
* Experience with Amazon EC2, S3 and Persistent Storage
* Experience with highly-scalable web services
