Lead PHP Developer Job Opportunity
We are a new media company focused on designing, developing, and operating a series of web startups. We are searching for a lead programmer to join our team and begin web development on our next upcoming web property and a number of properties thereafter. This position has the unique opportunity of offering a rapid and exciting development environment along with the experience of working on a multitude of different startups all under the same roof. Our ideal candidate is a driven, passionate, self-starter, who can execute, work well in a team, and who is looking to get involved with startups from the ground up.
Responsibilities
• Development of back-end infrastructure for new web properties
• Maintain and monitor existing web properties
• Program additional features for existing web properties
• Create, maintain, and monitor hosting environments
• Database design, implementation, and administration.
• Integrate front-end interfaces with back-end development
• Create technology solutions to improve quality and efficiency of operations.
• Participation in technology planning and assessment for upcoming projects.
• Effectively creating and implementing scaling solutions
Requirements
• Masterful knowledge of PHP
• Expert knowledge of MVC frameworks (specifically CakePHP)
• Expert knowledge of MySQL and Database management/administration
• Expert knowledge of xHTML/CSS
• Expert knowledge in server management
• Experience working with API’s (specifically the Twitter API)
• Experience with distributed version control systems (SVN, Git)
• Experience with Javascript, AJAX
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile (and fun) working environment
It’s a Bonus if you…
• Have previously developed for startups
• Have experience scaling large websites and are familiar with scaling solutions and techniques.
• Are someone who never (and we mean never) misses a deadline.
• Have a thorough knowledge of the Twitter API.
• Have great communication skills
• Have experience with UI design (proficient with Adobe Creative suite, specifically Photoshop)
