StoryDesk is looking for an engineering guru to be the master of our platform layer and backend, currently serving our front end dynamic "authoring" tool, as well as our iOS-based player. We've built up a PHP service layer as our platform. It's well coded, documented and tested. In this position, you will build on that platform and help us maintain the efficient status of our code and backend server.

Required Skills:
Master of PHP, MySQL
Experience creating a platform and generating docks to serve the platform's apps.
Support internal developers using the platform by handling requirements and delivering prompt code enhancements
Ability to create requirements and implement them to continually improve performance, security and efficiency of the platform
Experience setting up and maintaining instances on Amazon Web Services
Experience optimizing database and API performance across load balanced systems
Code management and deployment. 

We'd love for you to be extremely familiar with:
Front end technologies like HTML5/CSS3
Handling or streaming large files and video
cPanel
Helpful frameworks like Memcache
Helpful services like Pingdom, Cloudshare
The pace and demands of a rapidly growing startup
