opportunity for multiple talented PHP Developers. This position is full time
and based in our main office in New York City, NY. This is a unique

Responsibilities

We have a need for multiple Senior PHP Developers. Our needs are:

 

1.       One PHP Developer will coordinate, manage, and optimize our email
communication to users which are sent to millions of users each day. We are
looking for an enthusiastic, performance-driven self-starter and team player
with exceptional analytical skills. You will be responsible for managing the
technical components of sending emails as well as analyzing, testing, and
optimizing the various components of our emails to make them more engaging
and ultimately drive more traffic to our site. 

2.       Another PHP Developer will focus on scaling SNAP's applications to
accommodate higher traffic volume, monitor application performance and
optimize page speeds.

3.       Jr PHP Developer will focus on maintaining our current applications
as well as working with QA to fix minor usability issues and other ad hoc
projects such as translating our applications into multiple languages

 

Required Experience & Skills

 

Email Analysis

.      Advanced programming skill level in PHP and MySQL

.      Minimum of 2 years experience

.      Strong analytical, troubleshooting and organizational skills

.      Solid understanding of email best practices

.      Strong analytical, troubleshooting and organizational skills

.      Exceptional Excel Skills & Data Analysis skills to analyze large
amounts of data

.      Understanding of SMTP, DNS, and MTAs

.      Experience in ISP communication, feedback loops, bounce and complaint
handling, etc.

.      Experience with high volume messaging environment

.      Understanding of anti-spam technologies and Black Lists

.      Understanding of different email clients including web based systems
(Outlook, AOL, Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, etc.)

.      Familiarity with the Unix command line

 

Scaling focus

.      Proven ability to scale applications in high traffic environments

.      Minimum of 2 years experience

.      Advanced knowledge of compound indexes as well as experience tuning
MySQL for performance such as debugging, optimizing queries, replicating and
sharding in the My SQL environment

.      Exposure to using Mongo DB and Couch DB

.      Knowledge of caching systems such as ADC and extensive use of
memcache 

 

Jr. PHP

.   0-3 years experience working with PHP, CSS, HTML and JavaScript

.   Basic understanding / functional experience using MySql databases and
the following are a plus

a)      Query optimization

b)      Debugging slow queries

c)       Understanding of indexes

 

Desired Experience & Skills

.   Previous startup experience and development in an Agile environment 

.   Previous experience building Facebook applications preferred

 

Qualifications:

.   Must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science

.   Excellent verbal and written communication skills

.   US work authorization (All applicants must possess proper US work
eligibility and authorization documents)
