This is a full time, on-site, salaried Web Developer position located in New
York City paying $90,000-$110,000 depending on experience + benefits.  No
telecommuting allowed. US Citizens or Green Card holders only please. Local

Our New York City client is a stealth mode venture-backed company based in
New York.  The current team is made up of talented engineers who are
passionate about online and mobile games. We are looking for unique
individuals to join our family. Our company culture is positive, fun and
dynamic.  They are seeking a highly-experienced and motivated Web Developer
with a strong background in web application programming to join their
diverse team of gaming industry veterans in making the next generation
social and mobile games.

Responsibilities and Duties: 
. Develop and optimize web applications and websites 
. Assist in the planning and designing of distributed web based systems 
. Monitor web based systems for performance and stability 
. Work on database backed web applications using different programming
languages, development frameworks and database systems 
. Integrate into 3rd party platforms: Facebook, marketing and analytics
systems 
. Interact with Unix based servers during development, testing and
deployment 
. Code web pages utilizing JavaScript, HTML and CSS 
. Write unit tests and document client and server side code 

Skills and specifications: 
. Good understanding of Unix and Windows based operating systems 
. An independent learner with a desire to work on the cutting edge of
technology 
. Ability to multitask and self-manage schedules 
. Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work in a
multidisciplinary team (designers, server and client developers) 

Qualifications: 
. At least 3 years of experience writing distributed database backed web
applications and websites 
. Experience designing and writing object oriented code and MVC based
systems 
. In-depth knowledge of PHP5 (and optionally Python/Ruby/Java) on the server
side and JavaScript, CSS and HTML on the client side 
. Good database and SQL knowledge, especially MySQL or PostgreSQL 
. Solid understanding of networking protocols: TCP/IP, HTTP and UDP
