PHP - Contract (6 months) and Full-Time in Washington DC

This client is looking for both contractors and full-time PHP developers.
If you are interested in the moving to DC for a contract or a full-time
position please contact me.

Internet projects including: custom CMS solutions, multimedia sites, APIs
for content syndication, and web applications designed to serve our
editorial or marketing teams. We work in a fast paced continuous deployment
environment, and their three main websites --have over 11 million uniques
per month. 

Major Responsibilities Include:

.         Participating in a team-oriented environment to develop new
web-based applications

.         Maintaining existing PHP, Python, and JavaScript codebases,
including troubleshooting bugs and adding new features

.         Balancing a variety of concurrent projects while meeting deadlines

.         Demonstrating attention to detail while implementing technical
specifications

Skills & Requirements

Requirements:

.         Ability to define and communicate a technical vision, possessing
excellent verbal and written communication skills

.         Detailed knowledge of object oriented programming concepts and
application design and the ability to apply them to PHP or Python projects
(Python is a "nice" not "must")

.         Experience working with MVC web frameworks (Django preferred)

.         Experience with version control systems (GIT preferred)

.         Ability to follow established coding styles (such as Zend for PHP
or PEP 8 for Python)

.         Knowledge of SQL and relational database design and optimization

.         Comfortable using Linux / Unix command line

.         Able to write valid, semantic HTML / CSS

.         Willingness to learn new skills, frameworks, and programming
languages as necessary

.         Technical problem-solving skills, ability to succeed in a
fast-moving high-demand environment, and a willingness to "roll up your
sleeves" when necessary
