Hi there,

Is there any way to configure a WYSIWYG-editor differently for different 
components or even sections/categories? For example, articles have the 
whole range of editing features while the editor window for, say, 
descriptions in Event List entries is stripped down to a minimum.

If this is possible, would this be an editor's feature or could this be 
achieved by configuring Joomla? (The only option I saw so far was 
turning the editor on and off globally -- or tuning an editor via Plugin 
Manager, which has a global effect, too.)

surprised to see Y Slow gave the admin pages of a brand new Joomla! 1.0.12
install an 'F'. Yikes.
I didn't test the front end of a fresh install since most of my front ends,
being custom not stock code, scored fine.)

If I can beg the question for a moment of how Joomla! 1.5 scores in this
regard, does anyone have any thoughts as to why that is or more importantly
how to correct it?

Then, unbegging said question, does 1.5 represent a significant improvement
in that regard and thus yet another reason to ramp all my sites up to the
latest?

Actually, about (IIRC) 10 of the 13 "grades" that
YSlow uses are server dependent, not CMS/page
dependent (such as Expires headers, gzip, etc)...

Now, with that said, it's an admin panel... it's not
supposed to get traffic... Why not optimize the front
end (where a BIG difference can be made)?

A: I have a user doing heavy data-entry through the back end and screaming
it's too bloody slow.
Presently trying to realise the performance gains by tuning the server, but
the thing that surprised me was that the front end got a B in Y Slow but
back end got a D. That's why I tried a fresh install, bc I had tricked out
the backend too. And that's when I noticed that the out of the box back end
was getting a D on the same server I was getting a B on the front end.

(aside to Yahoo, what's with the silly elementary school grading system,
hahaha)

Hmmm well I am develop many joomla websites and have to generally give
it good grades for the admin speed? I am suspicious that the server or
something is dragging it down.  Whats the url of the site lemme have a
peek m8. maybe I can help you with it.

Using Y Slow to take a look at the back end of a Joomla site, I was kind
of surprised to see Y Slow gave the admin pages of a brand new Joomla!
1.0.12 install an 'F'. Yikes. 
I didn't test the front end of a fresh install since most of my front
ends, being custom not stock code, scored fine.) 

If I can beg the question for a moment of how Joomla! 1.5 scores in this
regard, does anyone have any thoughts as to why that is or more
importantly how to correct it?

Then, unbegging said question, does 1.5 represent a significant
improvement in that regard and thus yet another reason to ramp all my
sites up to the latest?

Our next meeting is scheduled for June 12th.  We are
looking for presentors for the meeting.  If you are
interested (or know anybody interested) please either

I will not be able to make this meeting (I will be in
Vancouver for Joomla Day), but there will be someone
there to run the meeting.

Also, we have talked about getting a "core" team of 4
or 5 people who are officially in charge of the group
