Love ionCube (now called php_accelerator). Best ten minutes of code 
optimization I ever spent.

I've seen benchmark test of the various pre-compilers, and the 
conclusion I reached was that if you're really after tip-top performance 
you should do your own benchmarks. But it's definitely the way to go in 
general.
