Ethereal can also run on some Windows machines 
(XP and 2000 at least).

You can use it to read tcp/ip traces from other 
machines.

For example, it could be used on a desktop computer 
to read a tcp/ip trace from a VMS (mid-range) system 
running UCX 5.x (BSD-style sockets).
