I'm not 100% sure about the init scripts on CentOS, but you might need
to add a "-D SSL" into your /etc/sysconfig/httpd file's OPTIONS var. I
assume this is the same as the /etc/conf.d/apache2 in gentoo where I
know that to be the case.
