Another possible solution to the whole thing is to just use a named  
variable inside of the submit itself + switch on that instead of  
using 3 form blocks:

<form method="post" action="form.php">
<input name="submit" value="back" type="submit" />
&nbsp;
<input name="submit" value="next" type="submit" />
&nbsp;
<input name="submit" value="home" type="submit" />
</form>
