[nycphp-talk] Stripping formatting from a word document

I think he was asking about a .doc file directly?  Im suprised that  
manipulation of Word docs always comes up on the list + the resources  
are pretty limited.

One project I found a while ago was antiword in which the sources are  
available:

http://www.winfield.demon.nl/

There is one file in there particularly useful: findtext.c

The only bad part is that it is < Office XP/2000.  Of course if you  
got off Word and switched to OpenOffice you have alot more open  
options for read/write and maintain compatibility.
